About Virtual Dog Trainer

My name is Chad Thompson, and I am the Founder of Virtual Dog Trainer. Despite having studied dog behavior and having worked extensively with dogs for many years, I found myself working in Corporate America instead of following my desire to train animals. After realizing that dogs were my true passion, I decided I wanted a life devoted to dogs and pursued my calling in dog training. Recently, I have focused my practice on dog aggression and dog obedience. Simply put, I teach owners to get their dogs to listen. I’ve owned dogs all my life and currently own a sweet Rottweiler named Bella that I rescued the day before she was to be put down on Christmas Eve. I also have a fun loving, energetic Boxer named Layla.

I am a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, founded by renowned dog training expert Ian Dunbar. Our mission at the association is to promote caring relationships between dogs and people by educating trainers in canine behavior and emphasizing professionalism and reward-based training.

Other memberships include the International Positive Dog Training Association, International Association of Canine Professionals, and the Humane Society of the United States. In addition, I have an advanced degree from the University of Maryland.

I am a publisher of dog training articles in the areas of dog obedience, canine aggression, dog behavior and advanced dog commands. I’ve written many dog training eBooks, several of which I hope to have published and into bookstores by the end of this year.

Virtual Dog Trainer was developed after listening to countless friends, family and dog lovers complain that dog training was too expensive and not affordable by many people who want to help their dogs. With those thoughts in mind, we decided to create a low cost complete dog training solution that offered our best content and lessons that we teach our own clients. The move to an online solution was necessary in our attempt to reach dog lovers around the country that wanted to learn more about getting their dogs to listen and end the frustration that comes with having a dog with poor behavior.
